Do I need to call to confirm that I will be attending my appointment?

 

Yes. Please confirm your appointment through Twistle or by phone at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We prefer to schedule our appointments to better assist you and your child during your time in our office.

Do I need to request medical records from OTHER OFFICES if MY CHILD wAS seeing ANOTHER PEDIATRICIAN OUTSIDE OF JOURNEY PEDIATRICS?

Yes.  Once a release of medical records form is signed by you, it will allow the other pediatric office(s) to send your child’s medical records to Journey Pediatrics.  You can sign a medical release form through our office.

How do I request medical records from a previous office/doctor?
You can fill out a medical release form from either the previous doctor’s office or at Journey Pediatrics. Once the medical release form is signed, the records will be released and sent over to our office.
What insurance plans does Journey Pediatrics accept?

We accept all New Mexico Medicaid Plans and most commercial insurance plans. Some of the main insurance companies that we accept:

  • Presbyterian Health Plan- Commercial and Medicaid plan
  • United Health Care- Commercial and Medicaid plan
  • BCBS (we accept all plans except UNM plans)
  • Molina- Commercial and Medicaid plans
  • Tricare
  • New Mexico Health Connections
  • Aetna
  • GEHA
  • UMR

What are my financial responsibilities?

What happens if I miss an appointment or show up late?

 

We will make every effort to assist you and take care of your child in an appropriate and timely manner.  We understand that unforeseen events may happen which may cause tardiness to an appointment.  If this occurs please let us know and we will seek to accommodate you as best as we can.  Accommodating you may involve seeing your child later that same day or rescheduling to a different day.

When does my child need to come in for a well child check/ physical?

We would love to see your baby 1-3 days after being discharged from the hospital.  The journey then continues at the following intervals:

  • 2 Week
  • 2 Months
  • 4 Months
  • 6 Months
  • 9 Months
  • 12 Months
  • 15 Months
  • 18 Months
  • 2 Years
  • 3 Years
  • 4 Years
  • Then once a year until the patient turns 18.
At what age does my child "graduate" from Journey Pediatrics?

We would love to see your child until he or she either turns 18 years old or graduates from high school.
