Office Visits

At Journey Pediatrics, we understand the importance of proactive healthcare for your child’s well-being. One of the key aspects of pediatric care is distinguishing between a well child exam and an office visit. While both play crucial roles in maintaining your child’s health, they serve distinct purposes.
  • Appointment to discuss specific, new or existing health problems.
  • Illness, colds, ear infections, etc.
  • Anxiety or depression.
  • ADHD management.
  • Other chronic conditions.
  • Regular copay or additional co-insurance, or deductible may apply.

Well Child Exam

  • Exam of a healthy child to look for hidden disease and give advice on healthy behavior.
  • Growth
  • Development
  • Routine exam
  • Immunizations
  • Other age appropriate screenings
  • Helps your child stay healthy by preventing disease or detecting a health problem at an early stage.
  • Covered by most insurance

Office Visit + Well Child Exam

On occasion, one appointment can meet the requirements for a well child exam and an office visit. If your well child exam includes consultation or treatment for a specific condition, your provider is legally required to report additional medical services on your bill. Combining a well child exam and an office visit will save you time by eliminating an extra appointment but your insurance may apply an additional co-pay, co-insurance or deductible for that visit.
